Answer: The expressions ‘looked timidly’ and ‘shambled in’ show the writer’s confusion and nervousness whenever he enters the bank. He acts like a stupid person. He fears everything in the bank.

Answer: When the manager came to know that he wanted to deposit 56 dollars, his attitude changed at once. He called to the accountant in an unkindly loud tone and asked him to open his account.

Answer: The writer’s salary was raised to fifty six dollars a month. His first reaction at the increase of his salary was to deposit his surplus in the bank. That’s why, he went to bank.
